Apparently his two newest obsessions

by LesleyG on April 24, 2008

A conversation with an almost-two-year-old:

“Hi my favorite nephew, Ivan… what are you doing?”

“I watch NEMO!”

“Oh, Nemo. What is Nemo doing?”

“Lehleeee*… [laughing hysterically] Nemo SWIMMING!” (Note: All sentences must end with a shout.)

“Good job! And where is Nemo swimming?”

“In the OCEAN!”

“Yes! (Certain I am speaking with a genius here.) And where are we going to go when I come see you?”

“OCEAN! And BEACH!”

“That’s right. And who lives in the ocean?”

“BOOBIES!”

And then my sister fainted on her living room floor.

Conversations with kids are priceless! I wish I would have captured more of them in writing or video or something!

My brother used to talk about sharks living in the “lotion”
(He thought the lakes were oceans and couldn’t say ocean apparently)

Haha! Seriously, aren’t kids the BEST mood lifters ever?!

My friend’s son wanted to call me the other day. He’s almost 2. He was wondering how I was doing and wanted to give me a hug over the phone. Totally made my day.

I don’t recall seeing any boobies in Finding Nemo. Hee hee.

Love the nephews!

Is that why I love going to the beach?

hahaha I missed the asterisk and thought that you were referring to “boobies” as your nickname! Tomorrow I am going to teach myself to read.

So cute! This totally reminds me of the conversations I have with my nieces and nephews … the things they say just blow my mind!

Ha! I definitely feel that due to a very flimsy bathing suit, my boobs have lived in the ocean once or twice.

Also? That thing about ending sentences with a shout? In my three days away, I’m convinced the substitute taught that trick to my class. Because we TALK LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME IN 2B NOW!

Oi.
