It’s hard to accept a CO cartridge from someone who broke your heart. I, on the other hand, never knew there was such a thing for bikes. So better you ran into him than me.

I know that for me changing a flat tire becomes easier and easier every time I do it. Not so sure that dealing with heartfelt emotions like those you describe will ever become easier. But I can say that, when the tire is fixed, you’ve gotta get back on the bike. I like the “sometimes it’s Tequila, sometimes it’s shredded wheat” line. Ride on. Run on!

The Universe is too smart for its own good. I loved this post because I could relate (and also, very well written). I’ve been there at the ten year reunion mark, fresh from a love disappointment, trying to be a grown up, to be independent, to be a Woman and also wanting someone to just be there to fix my tire.

It does get better. But you know that.

Sounds like you were in a difficult spot and dealt with it the best that you could. “I reminded myself that it was good that I could change the tire”- good for you that even your darkest time, when tears were close that you tried to think of the good. I’m sorry that April sucked and sorry about your tire. It’s always heart stomping when you realize that you deserve better than what you got.

And I’m glad I know I’m not the only one who medicates with cereal.

I love your writing. I was there with you all the way. Felt the prickle of embarrassment on hot skin… and finally sat down with you to share a bowl of cereal.
Where is the lightening when you really need it I ask you? And if it won’t strike you, the least it could have done was give Mr April a bit of a zap.

Chocolate, chocolate is another thing it sometimes requires!! Wow…can understand the need to cry. What’s weird for me, is I’ve had the need to cry and no real reason. I wonder what it is right now? My favorite season, but sometimes I get more emotional during this time than any other. It’s like you said, those days you just want someone there…for the stupid things. I’m seriously in trouble if I ever get a flat. I have no clue even how to take my bike wheel off…when/if I ever get a “real” bike (with clipless pedals and everything) I’m going to learn all that!! Seriously…You the woman!!

Wow, those kinds of chance encounters are never fun. Hope you realize he is the one that should be upset, he missed out on a woman like you.

On another note, a patch kit is very lightweight and easy to carry on rides. I think I will start putting co2 in my pocket each day. Never know when a damsel will be in distress
