Thoughts on Running

For most runners, a pair of running shoes "wears out" somewhere between 300 and 500 miles.

You Say It Like It’s A Bad Thing

June 10, 2008

Me: So I just threw out about six Roma tomatoes.

Mom: Had you eaten any?

Me: Yes, over the weekend. But I figure why push it?

Mom: Well you’d know it if by now if they’d made you sick.

Me: Yeah. Hey, have I ever had food poisoning? I can’t remember.

Mom: I don’t think so. I think we’d remember that.

Me: I’d think so too.

Mom: And with all that eating you’ve done from places parked on the side of the road, I’d say tomatoes are your last concern.

Some of those places parked by the side of the road are the best!! Actually if you’re talking farmer’s parked and selling stuff…probably healthier than anything you can get that is “FDA” approved from the store!

Not to mention all those other vacation destinations you frequent!

Eating can be quite the adventure.

    But yum… farmer’s market produce!

farmer’s markets are great but I can’t eat from food vendors. Just can’t do it — the hot dogs, the gyros, etc. Just where do they wash their hands throughout the day?

Words of truth an wisdom. I am still shaking my head over everyone tossing out tomatos.

How about cooking them to 212 degrees and making a lovely red sauce?

On a totally different note…catching up to your previous posts I came across the pics of your cute nephew - boy does time fly. Seems like just yesterday you were describing him as a baby….and then it’s odd and somewhat creepy that I should be having insight into someone’s life that I have never meet. Weird how the internet works….weird and creepy.

My mother and I just had the same conversation, but then we decided we couldn’t eat a salad without tomatoes, so we took a chance.
