Hahaha that is fantastic. I love teaching my nieces new (and sometimes scandalous) things! And you’re right – it’s so much better to explain the “why”s when you’re doing it.

You are teaching him wonderful things. I taught my nieces and nephews things that got them sent to the principle’s office. I guess it’s inappropriate for a four year old to tell her teacher, “Tell it to the hand.”

Seriously though – my friend, a new mother commented recently that her new baby doesn’t know what anything in the world is yet and she gets to teach him it all – how exciting, and scary all at once.

Ah yes…being an Aunt has to be great, nothing like having the ability to influence without being the recipient of those consequences. Now, the important thing to just show him exactly what this all means is to play the song, show him the time and place to say it and slap and make sure he knows what a margarita is, and of course that they are yucky! (rum is so much better than tequila anyway!!)

You may not realize it, but you just became my hero. You taught your two-year-old nephew not only about Margaritaville, but what to yell when he listens to it or (because you are obviously such a great aunt)you take him to a Jimmy concert.

My twins will be 6 next month and I’ve had them listening to Jimmy for about a year. I admire your head start!!
