This was wonderful to read before the big day and even after the event! I too am a fan of left overs but never get tham as we eat out… and left over pasta just isn’t the same!

I remember my first, and only attempt to date, of cooking a turkey…that isn’t so difficult actually…it’s the cooking the rest of it that can get tough!!

Politics are defintiely not meant for T-day…the only thing you can talk about then is football!!

I love T-day, my favorite national holiday by far. Just good food, lots of it, family and friends…no having to fight crowds to buy presents and trying to figure out what people want…it’s nice.

The first time I got to cook the turkey, I didn’t know there were parts in the neck cavity, until my brother-in-law started carving. It’s been close to 30 years, but that story still comes up at family gatherings If your family has time to talk about politics, they obviously don’t have enough humiliating stories to tell about you!

My favorite turkey day food is leftovers too, by far.

I could still be eating reheated mashed potatos and turkey sandwiches from last year if they’d keep.

Can I get an ‘amen’ on the politics ban at Thanksgiving? Unfortunately, half of my relatives are conservative Republicans and the other half are liberal Democrats, so the conversation ALWAYS goes there. So exhausting.

I popped over to say that for some reason your comment on Brandy’s recent post (on FWBs) really struck me!

“I do not get into things I already know won’t end well– at least not anymore.”

I thought– wow! That’s true for me, too. I can think of a lot of situations recently when the younger me would have dove head first, but the current me decided to pass. I think that’s a big sign of growing up, although it does mean missing out on some fun times.
