it must be a good feeling to have come to this understanding of yourself. kudos to good friends to help us understand our inner psyche.

I really do get that. I like being around my friends. I like getting out, I like having fun, but I NEED alone time too. And I’m very particular about needing it. If I am out with people too much, I get stressed…probably why I’m not overly stressed about the fact that I might be taking a few solo vacations in the near future!

Wow, both you and your friend said it perfectly. I am very much the same way. Unfortunately, it’s hurt the feelings of several of my friends in the past, but I’ve gotten a lot better recently.

I’m an extrovert and even I get lost in my aloneness sometimes. I never thought about it as “recharge” time, but that’s exactly what it is!

I’m very much like yourself in that I enjoy interactions with people, but when I’ve had my fill, I retreat to be alone and “recharge.” Living with an extrovert through-and-through can be draining sometimes, yet rewarding as she doesn’t often allow me to keep to myself for what may otherwise be an unhealthy amount of time.

I can sure understand your friend, as sometimes I want to interact on my own timeline as well. It’s a natural human reaction, I think, proving that once again, the internet saves humanity.
